Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin which is responsible for increasing the rate of intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate. It is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones due to the fact that your body can only absorb calcium when vitamin d is present. Vitamin D levels can be tested via blood test.
