The Hepatitis B Vaccine protects against the virus, which can prevent lifelong infections and complications to the liver. The Hepatitis B vaccine typically follows a three-dose schedule spread out over a six month period. Doses are administered initially, twenty-eight days after the first and a final dose six months after the first.
